Terms of use

The rules of the game, in the literal sense: your account, respect for other players, and what happens if these rules are not followed.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of BT Revival: the website, the BT Revival launcher, the game it installs and the account service. BT Revival is published by Matthieu Hoareau (see the legal notice). By creating an account, you accept these terms and the privacy policy.

2. The service

BT Revival brings the game BuildTopia back into service on PC. The launcher installs the game, keeps it up to date and launches it. BT Revival is free: no purchases are offered.

In-game currencies and items (coins, diamonds, items, ranks…) have no real value: they cannot be bought and cannot be exchanged for money or goods. The service may change, and features may be added, modified or removed.

To use it, you need a PC running Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and an internet connection for installation, updates and logging in to your account.

3. Your account

  • To create an account, you must be at least 15 years old, or have the consent of one of your parents (or of your legal representative).
  • You provide a valid e-mail address that belongs to you: it is used to log in and to recover your account.
  • Your account is personal: do not lend it, do not sell it and do not share your password. You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think it has been used by someone else, change your password and let us know.
  • Your username is public. It must not be insulting, hateful, sexual or discriminatory, must not impersonate another person or the BT Revival team, and must not advertise anything. A username that does not follow these rules may be changed, or the account may be sanctioned.

4. Code of conduct

By using BT Revival, you agree to:

  • not cheat: no cheating software, no automated program and no modification of the game or the launcher to gain an advantage, and no deliberate exploitation of a bug (report it on the Discord instead);
  • not attempt to access the servers, other players' accounts or the service's data without authorization, nor disrupt their operation;
  • respect other players: no harassment, threats, insults, hateful or discriminatory remarks, or scams;
  • respect the law and the rights of others, in particular their privacy.

5. Sanctions

If these terms are not followed, the publisher may, depending on the severity: warn the player, change their username, suspend their account for a limited period or close it permanently, and, in cases of serious abuse (circumventing a sanction, for example), block the IP address used for a limited period. The reason for the sanction is shown in the launcher. To dispute a sanction, write to us (section 11).

6. Intellectual property

BuildTopia is a NetEase game: its elements (universe, characters, places, images, sounds, names and trademarks) remain the property of their rights holders. The creations specific to BT Revival (logo, launcher, website, texts) belong to their publisher. You receive a personal, free and non-commercial right to use BT Revival, in order to play; you may not resell it, redistribute it in modified form or extract elements from it for any other use.

7. Availability

We do our best to keep BT Revival working, but the service may be interrupted, for example for maintenance, an update or an outage. It is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability. The publisher may shut down the service; in that case, it will notify players in advance in the launcher and on the website, unless this is impossible.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damages, nor for problems caused by your hardware, your connection, third-party software or use contrary to these terms. Only download the launcher from the official website or the BT Revival Discord.

9. Account deletion

You can request the deletion of your account at any time (section 11): your data is then erased as described in the privacy policy. The publisher may close an account in the event of a serious breach of these terms.

10. Changes to the terms

These terms may be changed, for example when a new feature is released. The new version is presented to you in the launcher; you accept it in order to keep using your account. If you refuse it, you can request the deletion of your account.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a disagreement, contact us first to find an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts designated by law.
